A sequence of lessons taught to my year 9 group. These lessons briefly look at the cause of the First World War, factors of and the aftermath. This is to give them an insight of the First World War before being taught this is detail for GCSE. Sources included.

Here is a series of lessons and activities which were taught to my Year 7 pupils this year, starting from the Wars of the Roses and finishing on Elizabeth I and her problems as Queen of England. All activity sheets are attached, along with any starter activities. Extension activities are provided throughout and all power points are pretty self explanatory, practically a lesson plan in the PowerPoint alone. I have not looked at the specific events of Elizabeth's reign as we were looking at Elizabeth in depth later to prepare our pupils for the Elizabeth Spec with Edexcel. Here you will find a revision booklet for Edexcel's Early Elizabethan England (1-9) Key Question 1. I have summarised the first key question into smaller sections and created an activities booklet which can be used alongside to prompt pupils to test their knowledge of the topic.

Here you will find both a revision booklet (simplified to help LA pupils and pupils who join schools later in the year) and an activity booklet to develop an understanding of the information. This is suitable for those completing the Edexcel Early Elizabethan England module. Hope it helps

PSHE sequence of lessons being taught to year 7 for the start of the academic year.

This is a Literacy Tube Map I created to help pupils develop their extended writing. The different tube lines are specific to various conjunctions, which pupils will be familiar with from year 7 onwards. I distribute these when pupils are due to complete a piece of extended writing; can allow differentiation to occur in your lesson, for example, if you have a pupil who regularly fails to include a conclusion you can tell them to focus on the green line specifically for their target.

I have adapted my Literacy Tube Map to create a Keyword Map, which aims to eradicate spelling mistakes of keywords in various topics covered throughout the year. This particular map is for my Year 7 pupils who will, at some point, study each of the topics, for example, Medieval England, Tudors, and the English Civil War. I find that throughout the year I am regularly circling the same keywords in pupils books, so I introduced this to their books, which they can use every lesson throughout the year to allow them to learn to spell keywords correctly so we can spend more time on developing skills rather than SPaG.

Here you will find an end of year quiz which consists of 5 rounds covering: general knowledge, famous faces, famous landmarks, celebrities, and music. Answers are attached to each slide. Pupils could be placed into groups, or create their own groups. Enjoy!

This is a series of lessons taught to my Year 7 pupils after our study of the Norman Conquest. The idea here is to allow pupils to develop their understanding of change and continuity to allow for easier access to examinations for the new GCSE. There are a variety of tasks for pupils of all abilities; most tasks are already differentiated for immediate use.

Here is a series of lessons on the Norman Conquest and the introduction of William the Conqueror as King of England. Many of the lessons are differentiated to suit the needs to a variety of learners. Activities range to encourage creativity from pupils of different abilities.

This lesson is an observation lesson which includes a variety of activities to help pupils develop both skills and knowledge of evacuation during the Second World War. Differentiation is included to cater to pupils of all abilities, lesson activities provide more able pupils to work independently and lower ability pupils to receive enough support to boost confidence when analysing and evaluating sources. Exam practice included for the 1-9 Edexcel 4 mark inference question.

This is a quiz, which will last the hour. It involves 5 rounds of 10 questions: 2017 films; famous faces; 2017 events; name the song and Christmas trivia. Enjoy!

This is an observation lesson which gives pupils an opportunity to reflect on their learning at various stages of the lesson. Differentiation is included throughout the lesson; a series of four different tables to be given for Lower Ability pupils, Lower Ability boys (with and without additional support), and Higher Ability pupils. All sheets which should be printed are included in the PP for easy access.

Here are a series of lessons on Queen Elizabeth I, detailing some of the various threats she faced during her reign. The final lessons delve slightly into methods of crime and punishment in Tudor England to provide pupils with some contextual understanding of the methods used prior to their in-depth study of Crime and Punishment and Elizabethan England in their GCSE studies (Edexcel).

Here you will find a series of lessons on the way in which Hitler consolidated his power in Nazi Germany (Key Question 3 of the paper). These lessons have been taught to GCSE pupils completing the new Edexcel Paper (1-9). All references to textbooks will be from either the new Hodder or Pearson, Weimar and Nazi Germany 1919-1939. Some lessons will include links to clips or worksheets which should be easily found as many of the worksheets are attached to PP or included in the package.

This lesson was a lesson observation which has differentiation for all types of learners. The aim of this lesson was to create a group essay with 4 other pupils, all of different ability to offer additional support when writing out their answer to the question, This lesson relies heavily on sources, and as some pupils are better at this skill I have included 6 different source sheets, which not only differ on source type but also writing support and prompts when answering questions.
