This assembly is aimed at Early Years and KS1. It explores the reasons behind why we commemorate Remembrance Day in a very sensitive way, and looks at the history and reasons behind why we wear poppy’s in particular. Running time approx. 20 -30 mins

These are to accompany a ‘Festivals and Celebrations’ display in which you plot the significant events of the year (including religious events and special days) and you can add children’s work and photos of events around these titles. Each one has an image and a brief description of the event.

This is a powerpoint presentation and assembly to recap some of the most significant events in history throughout the decades (from 1950-2020) with a brief description, images and videos to accompany the slides. This should last approximately 20-30 minutes and ends with a nice activity where-by the children reflect on what has been, and what is yet to come.
