These are resources that I have used on multiple occasions, they are very thought provoking and excellent at developing empathy/ tackling difficult questions that students may have. The resource includes: > a PowerPoint for the lesson/assembly including activities and discussion questions > a separate PowerPoint of images and questions for students to consider (I used music as the images were playing) > an empathy worksheet for after the activity Multiple opportunities for AfL and feedback throughout the lesson, suitable for students throughout KS2, KS3 and KS4.

This is a resource which I have used for the past two years during Refugee Week, it has had an excellent response with students and adults engaged throughout. This resource can also be used for teaching about Refugees and Asylum Seekers at any point in the year with activities and worksheets focusing on empathy and understanding.

This is a worksheet that I have used for a range of topics where students need to develop their empathetic skills by putting themselves in the position of someone else. Has been very powerful when used on topics such as: Holocaust Memorial Day and the Refugee Crisis, especially when paired with imagery or musical stimulus.

This is a resource that I used for an observation lesson on ISIS, this was a lesson that was requested by Yr.10 students following on from information that they had learnt from a unit of work on the Refugee Crisis (also available to download). This lesson focuses on an introduction to ISIS and includes multiple opportunities for discussion, debate and collaborative work. Opportunities for assessment for learning throughout, resource includes the PowerPoint and worksheets in one document and the 5 minute lesson plan designed by Ross Morrison McGill.
