This is a fully differentiated lesson looking at science vs religion in Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. The lesson helps learners to gain a strong understanding of the context surrounding the novella. The lesson also helps improve students understanding of language techniques and how to apply these to exam-style questions. The lesson works well both online and face-to-face and has been tried and tested with my own groups. This is a fully differentiated lesson looking at the poem The Prelude by William Wordsworth. The lesson looks at the contextual information regarding the poem and helps learners to draw links between this and the other poems in the anthology. The lesson looks at the whole poem and helps learners to understand key feature of language, structure and form. The lesson also has a model example and opportunities for AFL. Due to the restrictions put in place by Covid, the lesson can be taught without the need for additional printing or resources, making it ideal for either face-to-face or on-line teaching. The lesson looks at the short story, Lamb to the Slaughter and gives learners the opportunity to come to grips with some of the key aspects of the exam paper.
