David Matthew Baker's Primary Shop

Average Rating4.34
(based on 59 reviews)

I'm currently training as a Primary Teacher so making a wide range of resources using a variety of programmes including ActivInspire and Smart Notebook. My shop also has some of my past resources that I made during my time as a Special Needs Support Assistant. I am also a Cub Scout Leader and have provided some of the resources I have made for this role where I feel that may be of use to others.

Ugali Recipe (East African Staple Food)

(0)
A recipe card for Ugali. This is the Staple Food through much of East Africa including Kenya. I've made it for my Cubs on a few occasions. It is quite bland and should really be eaten with some fried greens, typically something like kale or cabbage.

Durham District Cub Camp Song Booklet

(1)
A booklet of various easy to pick up and follow songs enjoyed by the Cub age group (8 to 10 1/2 years old). I've uploaded it here incase anyone can find any use for these songs in school or on school residential experiences. Alternatively if you are a Cub leader all you probably need do is change the front cover. Though we don&'t want no 'Someones verbing lord, Kum ba Ay' verses (I was telling the Cubs how to make other verses not giving them another one to sing!)

An Assembly Template that I made for one of the teachers at the school I work at. It includes a visual timetable and a couple of songs (no music but I've left the slides with the lyrics in place). This assembly also still includes our central main piece that was on the topic of 'Ordinary People doing Extraordinary Things' - it includes a link to the YouTube video we showed during the assembly.

The Stages involved in creating a Product

(0)
A sheet that requires students to correctly sequence four of the stages involved in making a product. (Design, Marking Out, Cutting (etc...) and Assembly) They also have to fill in additional details about each of these stages. In this case the product shown in production is a bird house though the stages are the same for any hands on DT that doesn't require specialist equipment.

Images of Tools (to use to make resources)

Here are a lot of scans of the drawings on our tool poster set that we display in our Design and Technology room. I was scanning them all in to make in to resources but decided there might be some people who'd find the images themselves useful. All of these images were hand drawn a long while ago. I&'m happy for people to use them as they wish but if you make resources with them please be as so kind as to upload them here. Thank you.

Annotations Worksheet (Bookends)

A worksheet that is designed to help teach students how to annotate their research to help them gain higher grades in examinations later in their school lives. This resource was made for the autistic students from the Special School that I work at. It is also designed in a way to encourage the students to have to do some written work and to give them a degree of choice. This resource now contains 3 different differentiations of the 2nd sheet (the page the pupils need to write on).

Beaver and Cub Passport (As an example)

(0)
I'm uploading this as an example of how we have encouraged young people to participate in a range of activities. It may be possible for you to edit it to make it suitable for your setting. The young people each got a passport and then had a number of activities that they could choose to visit - each activity had a stamp that they could then have added to their passport after the completed the activity. It was a good way of giving the young people a choice but still having an incentive in place to encourage them to complete all the activities.

Persuasive Poster (Bug Houses) (Differentiated)

(1)
Here are a series of 4 differentiated worksheets to help students create a persuasive poster encouraging people to buy Bug Houses that they were producing as part of their Design and Technology lessons. This set of posters formed part of an observed lesson and was designed to show cross curricular links with English. (As we currently have a focus on writing within our school.) We started the lesson by showing the students a variety of adverts and talking about the features they use.
