AQA Energy Changes ECHG Bundle
A Bundle of lessons to cover the AQA Combined science ECHG topic.
A practical heavy focus on a topic which students find engaging and enjoyable. Can be condensed down to around 4 lessons to cover rapidly and effectively.
KS3 Electrical Power and Cost
KS3 lesson introducing the idea of electrical power and cost.
Will most likely last around 45 minutes. Can be accompanied with a worsheet to last the full hour if needed.
KS4 Kinetic, Gravitational Potential, and Elastic Energy (KE, GPE, and Ee)
KS4 lesson taking students through the applications and uses of equations to calculate Ke, GPE, and Ee.
Each equation is introduced in a way where students begin to think about the equations, and how different factors affect the amount of energy in different stores, before students begin to consider the use of equations in an exam context.
Differentiated questions demanding students convert units and consider the form of their answers. What’s more, the final questions require students to interchange values between stores of GPE, Ke, and Ee.

KS4 Organics Scheme AQA Combined
A full scheme of lessons to take students through the AQA Organic chemistry unit for paper 2. Packed with animations, videos, practical opportunities and engaging activities.
All activities are on the powerpoints, printing is kept to a minimal to save time and money, and students have shown to greatly enjoy this topic!
KS4 Tests and uses of alkenes
A full lesson, including practical, for the tests and uses of alkenes, where students are also introduced to the ideas of polymers, and how to draw polymers. An enjoyable lesson, where students have previously made excellent progress.
KS4 Crude oil formation and alternative fuels
A KS4 lesson covering the formation of crude oil, as well as the consequences of burning crude oil once formed. A hollistic approach to the topic where students begin to understand the disparity of timings between formation and combustion of crude oil.
KS4 Cracking lesson
A full lesson on cracking, taking students through the ideas of why cracking is important for supply to meet demand, to the formation and structure of alkenes, and their potential uses.
KS4 Properties and combustion of hydrocarbons lesson.
A full lesson taking students through the properties of different hydrocarbons, with particular focus on how intermolecular forces affect the physical properties of viscosity and flammability. Students are then taken through the two types of combustion, before attempting to balance combustion equations.
KS4 Alkanes, Fractional Distillation and the Uses of Fractions
A full lesson taking students through the structure of alkanes, the process of fractional distillation, and the uses of different fractions. All key ideas from the AQA GCSE syllabus are included, with a focus on flammability and viscosity with regard to uses of fractions.
This lesson could be used to cover several learning episodes, and builds nicely on key concepts. It has proven very powerful in building key ideas in what can be a tricky process for students to understand.
Scaffold Equations Template
A template which can be laminated and used to scaffold equation questions for students. The template walks students through how to determine information provided from questions, relate this to equations, rearrange equations, and ultimately solve for answers.
A useful tool which can be used to build confidence in LA students. Laminating this document produces a resource which students can easily use over and over for different equations, and can change their working without feeling under pressure to have correct working in their books.

A series of fully resourced lessons available to assist students in navigating the AQA Combined Science Trilogy topic of Bonding.
These resources are both challenging and engaging; drawing upon both practical based activities, as well as featuring conceptual conundrums to promote higher order thinking withing students.
