A set of twenty four Shakespearean insults with the play citation. Not seen on the preview, but on the mock up of a display board: they are presented with aged paper as a background and the pack includes a Shakespearean Insults header page. I have found them to be a really useful way of engaging students with Shakespeare. My students had lots of fun using Shakespeare quotes to insult eachother and me (in a light hearted way of course!) I would suggest cutting the insults into individual strips for your display. Lookout for my Shakespeare Display Bundle and save money by buying the facts and phrases display at the same time.

Unit of work that I developed for my secondary age SEMH students, based upon the dyslexia friendly text; The Beast by Michaela Morgan. The unit contains 11 PowerPoints and supporting resources where appropriate.

A highly engaging quick activity or starter. A young girl who must help a tiny boy pilot fly home before it’s too late I regularly use these with my secondary age SEMH students, and they love them. They would also work well with younger students. Each activity comes with a link to the short film on YouTube and information about the film. There is standard question sheet and a differentiated version with sentence starters. This item comes with an extension task to make it into a full lesson. Ideal for a cover lesson. The comprehension questions are based upon a 30-minute-long CBBC Newsround Special called Holocaust: Finding My Family. The documentary follows the story of 14-year-old Maggie as she travels with her grandfather, Steven, and learns about his experiences of the Holocaust. The documentary is narrated by author, Anthony Horrowitz. The documentary was made to commemorate Holocaust Memorial Day, but would also be suitable to support any learning relating to World War II or The Holocaust, or as a cover lesson. The question sheets provided come with three levels of differentiation denoted by the stars in the top right corner of the page. An answer sheet is enclosed for easy reference, but there is also a PowerPoint which enables the teacher to review the answers together with the group. This would also be an excellent opportunity to facilitate class discussion. Included within the resource pack: • Comprehension questions differentiated to three levels. • Teacher guidance sheet with answers. • PowerPoint presentation to review answers. At the time of publishing, the documentary was available on the BBC iPlayer. It would also be suitable for older KS2 students. The only limitation here is the potentially upsetting nature of the content. I would recommend viewing the documentary first, to see if you feel it is appropriate for your students. The documentary was made for CBBC, so it has been made with younger viewers in mind.
