I began the Flat Stanley Project in 1995 and it is now the oldest literacy and community-building site on Internet. Flat Stanley is recognized by millions of children around the world. The Flat Stanley Project is an ideal way to motivate students to write and can be easily incorporated into virtually all areas of the curriculum. I have recently written a children’s book, The Tale of the Third Bear, that is available on Kobo, Amazon, and iTunes, with the companion site at www.mytravelteddy.com. I hope to recreate the magic of Flat Stanley through teddy bear exchanges and journal writing. I have also released an educational app for the iPad called Core Learning Basics. Because it is programmable, it can be easily customized to provide individual assistance to your students.
