First in a short series on lessons on coral reefs. This lessons looks at what coral reefs are and where they are located.

A selection of 7 model answers linked to the OCR A-Level unit on Human Rights. Included are both short mark and longer mark examples. All these examples have been written by myself (sorry about my hand writing on the last two- I wrote them along with students, under timed conditions).

Lesson 1 of the SoW on Rainforests. The lesson looks at the location, structure & climate of the rainforest biome.

Questions for students to answers whilst watching the BBC documentary Climate Change - The Facts, which is available on iPlayer. Questions are in order. There are 22 questions in total but you could remove some if you wish, especially if being used with younger students.

Clear leveled Assessment Criteria, which can be adapted to fit any school’s own assessment policy. Example and modeling included to support students.

This lesson investigates threats to coral reefs and sustainable solutions. Students watch 3 video clips and use the information to complete a table (exemplar answers for self assessment included). The second task is a snakes & ladders board game, which involves students gaining and losing points, depending on how sustainable their actions are.

Includes a video clip, categorising task and extended writing. Focuses on developing explanation.

Title: Where does crime happen? Success Criteria: I can… Describe spatial patterns of crime in the UK. Explain reasons why some places become crime hot spots. This lesson includes a range of activities, including a choropleth map task.

This lesson looks at the positive and negative impacts of Christmas. It includes some video clips, a categorising task and extended writing. Lots of scope for discussion and promotes thinking. Also gets students to think about how we can make Christmas more sustainable. The ideal lesson for the week we break up, if you want to avoid a quiz or film.
