A Maths booster/intervention that can be printed off to create a booklet of activity worksheets for Early Years and Key Stage 1 children. The booklet covers five weeks and covers a range of activities including number writing to 5 and then to 10, missing numbers, number recognition and representation using pictures and addition and subtraction using numbers to 5 and then numbers to 10. I have used this activity to support children with their understanding of number and addition and subtraction and it has helped to boost their confidence when they return to class. I use this workbook to assess whether children can write their name correctly, can count and write numbers in order and can read and write simple words. Children also enjoy sharing information about their friends and family and creating their own picture shields.

A sample slide from my Read a Picture - Developing Inference PowerPoint. The full PowerPoint includes nine pictures with guided reading questions and example sentence openers to develop inference in children. Each slide on the full PowerPoint includes a picture for children to look at and talk about followed by questions that appear one at a time for children to think about. Each question is followed by an example sentence opener to encourage children to answer in full sentences. My class have thoroughly enjoyed being reading detectives and, through practise, will now provide reasons and explanations for their answers.
