An example from my Powerpoint to support children to learn to spell Year 1 Common Exception Words and to practise using these words in a sentence. The children are shown the letters that they need to write a word and then see if they can write the word on their whiteboard using only the letters shown. They are then shown how to spell the word correctly. The following slide gives an example of the word being used in a sentence with an accompanying picture eg I am happy __ . Children to then practise spelling the word again before the correct spelling of the word is revealed in the sentence. The word list is divided into 9 weeks with 5 spellings to learn each week. An example slide from my set of 9 pictures with guided questions and example sentence openers to develop inference in children in Early Years and KS1. Each slide on the Powerpoint includes a picture for children to look at and talk about followed by questions that appear one at a time for children to think about. Each question is followed by an example sentence opener to encourage children to answer in full sentences. My class have thoroughly enjoyed being reading detectives and through practise will now provide reasons and explanations for their answers. The Powerpoint can be used as a whole class activity or with small groups during guided reading sessions. An assembly aimed at Early Years and KS1 children about being a superhero and spreading smiles. The assembly explains that we all have a superpower and that that superpower is making people smile. The assembly asks children to think about how they can make people smile and gives some ideas. My class enjoys thinking that they are superheroes and that they can use their superpower throughout the day. Powerpoint could also be used for discussion during a PSHE lesson.

A Powerpoint that can be printed off to create a booklet of worksheets for Early Years and KS1 children to practise writing sentences. The Powerpoint covers five weeks and introduces children to 35 of the 100 high frequency words. Each week covers reading the focus high frequency words, writing the focus words, cutting and sticking words to make a sentence and then writing a dictated sentence. I have used this activity to encourage children to write sentences with capital letters and full stops and to hold and repeat the sentence in their head. The intervention helps children to gain confidence when they are writing.

A summer home learning Powerpoint that can be printed off to create a booklet for children to create a record of their summer holiday. Each week has a sheet on which to record somewhere that the child went and the following page includes each of the senses and space for children to record different things that they smelt, tasted etc. There is also a page for children to record what they are looking forward to in the holiday and a page to record something that they learnt in the holidays. My class always enjoy sharing their summer holiday record. Aimed at Early Years and Year 1 children.
