An activity workbook for Year 1 children to complete when they join their new class. The workbook contains five worksheets for children to complete. I use this workbook to assess whether children can write their name correctly, can count and write numbers in order and can read and write simple words. Children also enjoy sharing information about their friends and family and creating their own picture shields.

A set of 40 house point cards - 20 for one house point and 20 for 5 house points. These house point cards cover different subjects and can be laminated and handed to children during the lesson to celebrate their success. Children enjoy earning house points and these cards can then be collected up and tallied at the end of each lesson. Suitable for KS1 and KS2 children.

A set of 6 activities to support children to learn to write numbers 0 - 10. The activities include practising writing numbers, filling in missing numbers, creating a number line, tracing over numbers and writing the number of objects. These sheets can be laminated so that they can be used again and again. Aimed at Early Years and Key Stage 1 children or those who need extra support to learn to write numbers 0 - 10.

A set of four Alphabet Game Boards. Each board contains every letter of the alphabet and four different instructions - write a capital , write a lower case , name this lower case letter or name this capital letter. Children work their way around the board until one of them reaches the end of the board and wins the game. These boards help children to learn, practise and remember capital letters and letter names. Aimed at Early Years and Key Stage 1 children.

A set of cards showing numbers 0 - 10. Children can practise counting the dots or can place objects such as counters over the dots to practise counting to 10. Each card displays the number too so children start to associate the number of objects with the numeral. These cards can be laminated for continued use. Aimed at Early Years and Key Stage 1 children.

A set of matching cards for numbers 0 - 10. Children have to match the numeral, picture and word. They could also use these cards to order numbers from 0 - 10, order the pictures from 0 - 10 or order the number words from zero to ten. Aimed at Early Years and Key Stage 1 children

A set of name tags that could be used as peg labels and on classroom displays, tray labels for children’s trays and name practise cards for children to practise writing their first and surname. A class calendar to display the date. There are three versions of the class calendar poster - a lower ink version through to a full colour version. There are also two further posters - one for days of the week and another for months of the year. Suitable for Early Years and Key Stage 1 classrooms.

A set of 30 positivity questions to encourage children to talk positively. This PowerPoint of positivity questions can be used as an Early Morning Starter or as a starter for PSHCE lessons or simply as a talking activity during the day. The questions cover topics such as - what is your favourite animal, what are you proud of, what makes you happy. Children enjoy sharing their answers and the questions promote positivity. These questions could be used with key stage 1 or key stage 2 children.

A classroom behaviour chart for teachers to use to spot positive behaviours. The chart includes 8 positive classroom behaviours, these behaviours are - excellent attitude fantastic lining up superb effort brilliant tidying wonderful kindness good listening super sitting beautiful manners There is also a set of alien name tags. The children can choose the colour alien that they would like and their name can be added. When the children are spotted displaying one of the positive behaviours they can add their alien name tag to that picture on the chart. The chart encourages children to engage in the positive behaviours and children enjoy having their name on the chart and being praised for their positive behaviour. Aimed at Early Years and Key Stage One children.

A set of 4 game boards focusing on using adjectives. Each game board features a picture scene and numbered squares. Some squares contain an instruction for children to follow eg say 2 adjectives to describe the sky or find something in the picture that is unusual. Children enjoy playing the game and using adjectives. The game encourages children to use a range of adjectives and introduces children to new adjectives. These game boards can be printed on A3 paper and laminated to be used more than once. Aimed at Key Stage 1.

A word collector book for children to collect a range of words that they can then refer to and use in their written work. Children could have their own copy of the word collector book or there could be a class copy completed with the children. The word collector book helps to expand children’s vocabulary and encourages children to consider the words that they choose to include in their written pieces. Aimed at Key Stage 1 children however could also be used with Lower Key Stage 2 children.

A phonics activity for practising and revising split digraphs only. Children can practise writing real and alien words on their whiteboards using focus sounds. The activity could be used during phonics lesson, as an intervention for any children requiring extra support or in the lead up to the phonics screening. Aimed at Early Years and Year 1 children. A Maths game aimed at Year 1 children. The game includes addition and subtraction facts to 10, 2D and 3D shapes, doubling and halving. Each child is given a differentiated clue card showing either a number problem or a shape problem, children solve the problem and then need to look for the solution in the picture slide. The aim of the game is for children to be the first to spot the solution to their problem. Children enjoy solving the problems and trying to be the first to spot their solution. This game supports children to recognise shapes, recognise number names and learn maths facts.
