A fun fractions game to reinforce the concept of fractions of shape. Students must find the matching fraction in numbers and the fraction represented as a shape.
In pairs or small groups students deal the cards, face down, equally between themselves. The first player places a card, face up, to begin a pile. The next player places their card, face up, on the pile. Continue until a shape and a numeral card representing the same fraction are placed on top of one another. The student who shouts ‘Snap!’ first keeps that pile. Continue until one player has won all the cards.
These cards can also be used to play other games such as memory pairs.

How to Play

If not, they must turn the cards back over and the next person has their turn. It is important to remember where the cards are positioned for future turns!
