I have been a primary school teacher for many years and have taught all age groups, specialising in English and later on, special needs. I have recently taken early retirement. I know how busy you are & how hard you work. I aim to produce the resources you would have made yourself, if you had had the time. If you have bought any of my resources, I would really appreciate it if you would review them. Many thanks!

Lots of practice at using fronted adverbials. Two PPTs and 6 worksheets - for 2 separate lessons. The children watch the PPT and complete tasks orally. They then complete the worksheets. There are 3 for each lesson, so the more able may be able to complete all 3, and the less able, just one. All editable. 'Commas to Separate Items in a List' in a description of a celebration

Children watch the PPT or Smart board presentation showing pictures of a birthday party. They discuss their best party ever - where it would be, who they would invite, what they would eat and what their favourite presents would be. They do this orally, or on whiteboards, using the picture prompts, thinking carefully about where the commas should go. They then write a paragraph describing the party, using the given sentence openers. There is a check list to help them to remember to use commas correctly. Finally, they could go on to write a descriptive paragraph about another celebration using commas in a similar way, such as Christmas Day or another festival or another person's birthday. Fully editable. For further resources see - https://www.tes.com/teaching-resources/shop/Jazel

Loads of activities children can work through on their own using the word book. They check the spellings of animal names in the dictionary, learn to spell the days of the week and months of the year, learn body words and story characters etc. I found that they really enjoyed doing these e.g. when they had finished their work, and they were learning all the time! All fully editable. For further resources see my shop - https://www.tes.com/teaching-resources/shop/Jazel

J, v, w, x, y revision - choosing story - Using sounds to scribe simple words.

Children revise these letters by writing a story. They look at the pictures together on the PPT or Smart notebook and talk about them. What are the children doing? Why? Whose birthday is it? etc. What is this? A red van etc. Children then write their own stories using the given writing frame, choosing what is in the box delivered etc. They cut out pictures and stick them in the appropriate places and write in the missing words. Each of their stories will be different, or you can just do it on the whiteboard or individual boards as a revision lesson. Originally made for a small group children who needed more help. Choice of PPT or Smart notebook. Feedback would be appreciated. See more resources in my shop: https://www.tes.com/teaching-resources/shop/Jazel

Lesson 1: Use of connectives concentrating on 'because'. Includes mnemonic which could be printed out for display. Show faces of 'Harry' with different emotions. Why is he feeling like this. Orally think of sentences - Harry was feeling happy because... Next children write sentences about children on their own table in a similar way. Lesson 2: This time children are shown pictures of places - London, the moon, the zoo etc. They write similar sentences about other children but this time use more connectives, e.g. Maria went to the zoo when it was her birthday. The Presentations are either in Smart notebook or PPT. Everything is fully editable. Detailed plans are provided. Feedback would be lovely! Foreign Languages Register - French and more!

(0)
Register time consists of 15 or 20 precious minutes that could be used for practising the foreign language you are teaching your class. You can begin very simply by calling out your children's names and getting them to reply 'Oui' or 'Non'. Then move on to greetings, asking how they are, using the verb to be and numbers. At the end of the day, children can learn to say goodbye. When they have mastered this in the first language, why not move on to another? French, Italian, German, Spanish, Mandarin, Latin and Atesi (Ugandan dialect) are included. Why not ask minority children in your class to help you take the register in their language?
