This lesson teaches students the theory side of chromatography and then follows onto a practical. It is a fun and engaging lesson where pupils have to discover which teacher is the alien. There is a method included and a support sheet for low ability students. This can easily be adapted for KS4 pupils.

Attached is a set of 6 mark questions that cover the year 7 and 8 science topics. I have developed these questions for KS3 so that students can practise their literacy skills and get use to answering 6 mark questions before embarking onto the GCSE course. The questions can also be used as a main assessment for a topic.

This lesson is an independent lesson. Students are given information and asked to produce a leaflet for the general public making them aware of what factors contribute to heart disease. To summarise the lesson pupils have to answer a 6 mark question a model answer is included so students can self/peer assess work.

This lesson covers three limiting factors of photosynthesis. It is an independent lesson enabling students to answer 6 mark exam questions. There are prompt sheets that can be used as differentiation to help students scaffold their answers or for lower ability students. There is an A* challenge for the more able. For the starter I have the questions displayed on the board and give students the text to read and highlight the information to enable them to answer the questions. The lesson also covers numeracy skills as students are required to analyse data. This lesson was observed and graded as outstanding. The lesson plan is included.

During this lesson students have to carry out an investigation to find out which rock would be the most suitable to be used as a headstone. There is a 'peep' sheet included which can be used to be used to support lower ability students. A lesson plan is also included. This lesson was observed and graded as outstanding. There are differentiated planning sheets, a starter activity and think, pair, share mat included.
