Excellent print and go resources and PowerPoint, which looks to explore Biomes and help students categorise different types of Biomes, various climates, animals and plants that live within them. The main 28 minute activity includes a carousel with key information (rain forests, Tundra, Desert and Tropical Oceans) that students must contemplate and then consolidate on a worksheet. Also included is a 10 minute extension diary task and starter with a plenary. This lesson aims to continue to explore the transatlantic slave trade with an emphasis on the Middle Passage and slave transportation. Students will be exploring the lesson with a particular emphasis on empathy and emotional understanding of the slave journey across the Atlantic. The lesson is part of the History National Curriculum for the United Kingdom under Expansion of the British Empire. Included are: PowerPoint presentation, which has a starter, source analysis activity, video link with student prompts and extended writing activity in the form of a diary.

A very effective and straightforward lesson, looking to introduce students to why we learn about World War Two in schools, The Holocaust. The lesson should be aimed as an introductory starter to the study of World War Two, and really is a reflective opportunity for students to become engaged with the topic. The main task asks students to reflect on a scene from Band of Brothers, where American soldiers discover a concentration camp during the time period. Then follows a literacy activity. A very simple introduction, could be used as a filler lesson. Warning- Clip from Band of Brothers contains distressing images. This full lesson on the aftermath of the Battle of Hastings is part of the 1066 unit of study and would work well for both Primary or secondary students. The lesson focuses on the aftermath of the battle and the problems William had. It askes students to identify the problems through the analysis of a literacy piece and then evaluate a range of solutions for each of the problem. Finally students will be asked to justify their solutions through a writing piece and a plenary that looks to engage and build confidence. The activities have been build with Blooms taxonomy in mind and there is differentiation through for lower ability students and challenge questions for higher ability students. the worksheet includes: 1.
