The resources were originally created for high school classes comprised of children with learning difficulties. The resources are made to avoid distraction by using well-spaced text and minimising graphics. The aim is to improve literacy, numeracy, living and social skills by providing engaging, challenging and age-appropriate resources. They cover a wide range of subject areas and year levels and many include ideas for differentiation, lesson plans and extension work.

Perfect for an introduction to the topic for younger years but also a good revision tool for older students. Children can practise reading, explaining, interpreting, predicting and participating in discussions. Can be used as an individual or partner activity or as part of group work. Contains: Activity One: Children read simple definitions of being mean and bullying and then must explain the difference between the two things to 3 people and listen to 3 people explain it to them. An excellent strategy for consolidating concepts. Activity Two: Children read through the statements with a partner (or individually if preferred), discuss and then decide which statements demonstrate bullying. Activity Three: Multiple Choice – children read 3 different scenarios and choose the best way to react from the responses given. Great for generating discussion around the topic. Print, cut out and use as a handy tool for children when calculating Speed, Distance and Time. To use: Have children make the triangle up each time in front of them on their desk. Once they have figured out what the question is asking them for e.g. Speed, Distance or Time they select that card and carefully move it to the left. What remains in front of them tells them whether to multiply or divide. This tool is included in Rates(B) resource including worksheets (see Knowntowork Resources)
