KS3 lesson on Aerobic Respiration: includes lesson powerpoint, worksheets and practicals. I used this lesson with a low ability class, but there’s plenty of scope for it to be differentiated for a higher ability. Mini quiz at the end of the powerpoint to assess learning. I did the plenary quiz with mini-whiteboards in teams and made it into a competition - they loved it!

A project I edited and used with my year 7’s. I set it as an independent learning project, giving them task deadlines each lesson. Covers: planet order in the solar system researching facts about planets planet factfiles / posters build a model of a planet comets, asteroids, meteorites etc days and night seasons 7 life processes aliens! Opportunities for creativity, in the model making, designing aliens and making meteorlogy reports; for researching and always - LEARNING!

This is a lesson I created for a mid-ability (Grade 3-6/7) year 11 class on the fourth lesson of the topic B6. It has opportunities for differentiation, class discussions, pair work and then plenty of repetition of practising punnet squares!! The first page of the worksheet correlates with the 3-minute timed activity on the powerpoint and has a few questions to test understanding of the first lesson objectives. The last part of the worksheet is exam-style questions to practise punnet squares and probability.

Complete lesson I created for a low ability year 8 class, introducing a tricky topic of enzymes. Using simple analogies and animations to help explain function of enzymes and the different digestive enzymes. Fill in the gap worksheet, cut and stick worksheets, video and plenary.

A tick task sheet which I created for some SEN pupils in a low ability year 8 class. I laminated them and use them for pupils to track which activity they are on. (Good behaviour management tool too!)

Quite a jam-packed powerpoint, some activities can be left out if needs be but lots of option for a varied lesson. I created this extended project resource for my year 9 class, to fall in line with the AQA NEW GCSE 9-1 Physics P1 topic: Energy. Resource included instructions of what to research, key questions to answer, extension questions to think about, useful website links and a writing frame for what to include exactly on each slide. PDF file and editable word document included. Gets pupils to research non-renewable vs renewable energy, and different renewable energy sources in more detail, formulate conclusions and evaluate efficiency of each energy source. Opportunity to stretch and challenge, with supportive writing frame at the end to support those who need some more guidance.

Wordsearch made for year 8 low ability group

A resource I created for a few non-english speaking / very low english speaking ability in my lower ability year 10 class. We were studying ‘Helping the heart’ and I made a match up worksheet with both the english words, pictures and the bulgarian translations on to make it easier for them to understand the content, and complete a worksheet.

A sheet I developed for my lower set year 7’s to aid their literacy and spelling of key science words for each topic. Template is self-explanatory : they had a list of key words and had to pick a word they had learn the definition and spelling of and put it into a sentence. On a friday they then tested themselves to see if they could write the spelling correctly without using any aid. BOLD THEY LOVED IT!

A task designed to supplement one of my climate change independent learning projects where students write a letter to Donald Trump discussing climate change. Task includes: researching climate change and finding evidence looking at current solutions providing their own opinions and analysing the evidence Letter template included aswell as instruction worksheet.

This is a help sheet I have edited and added to to give to my BTEC students when doing their UNIT 2 coursework, assignment C. Chromatography of Chlorophyll It breaks down each section of the report and gives them headings for help with formatting and then prompt questions to indicate what they need to write for each section. At the end it also shows what is needed for distinction, merit and pass for the assignment.
