Easter Maths Symmetry Coordinates

Suitable for Y6 or similar. Easter themed activity using knowledge of line symmetry and coordinates. Children reflect the Easter egg design in the y axis. Once plotted the children can colour the design. To make it more challenging, you can ask the children to record the coordinates they need to plot or make it a partner activity whereby one works out and writes down the coordinates for the other to plot. This way the children can check each other’s work. Differentiated as follows with three designs at each level: reflecting in the 1st quadrant; reflecting in the 1st and 4th quadrants; and reflecting in the 2nd and 3rd quadrants. I hope you find this a useful and flexible resource for the end of term!

A set of spelling lists for the school year which I have used with Year 6. It is a mixture of statutory lists and vocabulary/spelling rules which I have found useful at this age in mixed ability prep school classes. Lists are each 25 words long, with children learning the first 15 or 20 or the full list, depending on ability. I hope it is useful, perhaps to someone working in a school that isn’t using a scheme.
