The product is free to download, but Terms of Use still apply. Ideal reference resource for students focusing on high-frequency Italian conjunctions and connectives. I’ve found that the lists are a great learning support resource, and they’re really popular with students too. They work well when students keep them carefully in learning files or folders for current and future reference. They also work well printed double-sided and laminated for small-group work in class. This list is a collection of 25 high-frequency Italian conjunctions and connectives that students will meet in the advanced beginner to intermediate stages of Italian learning programmes, and useful for students beginning advanced Italian as a vocabulary audit. It’s an important step in language learning is to ensure that students quickly develop a useful Italian vocabulary bank, are able to recognize Italian conjunctions and connectives, and are confident with the meaning of those words in their first / home language, so that they can produce more detailed and descriptive language and more complex sentences and texts as soon as possible. Students shouldn’t take on the task of learning 25 conjunctions and connectives all at once though - this is more of a longer-term reference resource that students can use to audit their developing Italian vocabulary, and it is definitely the case that frequent and regular use in real-world practical contexts is far more successful at embedding vocabulary into longer-term memory. The list is a great time-saver for teachers too - if you’re preparing resources focusing on conjunctions in Italian for your students, the list is a good starting point. There are two alphabetical lists - one I***talian-English***, and one English-Italian, as I’ve found that most language students prefer to have both as a reference resource. There are two backgrounds to choose from - Italian flag, which I generally use for Italian vocabulary display or Italian grammar display, and plain. Have a browse through my store for more Italian vocabulary reference lists, and a wide range of other Italian teaching and learning resources, with Italian resource boxes, special offer bundles, and lots of freebies. I like to have sets of super simple French vocabulary recall worksheets that my French students can work on independently for both practice and revision, either in class time or for home learning. They’re really useful for embedding vocabulary, checking recall, and for reading, writing and accurate spelling in French. These two recall worksheets focus on French Numbers 0-31, and feature two differentiated recall challenges: Challenge 1: translate and write the numbers in French from a number prompt; the numbers are in numerical order Challenge 2: translate and write the numbers in French from a number prompt; the numbers are in random, rather than numerical order. This is really useful for vocabulary recall, as students often learn numbers in numerical order. Speaking is a language skill that learners tend to find very challenging, regardless of level, and increased engagement with language that requires them to both reproduce accurately language they are already familiar with, and to be creative with that language in order to produce new language is integral to successful language learning. The 10 questions focus largely on the present tense, with some examples of tenses such as preterite and conditional. I like to include tenses we may not have formally covered, as the activity is not solely about practising language, but also about actively learning it. I encourage students to look for cues and clues in the questions themselves, and this certainly enables them to engage with new or unknown language successfully, and to progress in their learning. Each card has an image: some of these are specific visual prompts to help students infer meaning; some are more generic images. I do use images as much as possible with this kind of activity, not only to provide the prompt, but also to add to the visual appeal of it, which is a real motivator for learning. I remind students that it is not necessary to tell the truth - the purpose is to create and produce accurate and realistic language. Students can prepare their responses in as much detail as possible on the accompanying planning sheet, remembering that these are conversation starters, so that once they have responded, they should then say something to keep the conversation going. The product is free to download, but Terms of Use still apply. 12 differentiated challenge cards freebie, focusing on French ER verbs in the present tense, ideal for KS3 French students, who are really getting to grips with the concept of conjugation, and beginning to work with compound sentences and longer texts. They work well as refresh and revision for KS4 French / GCSE French students too. This kind of activity really does help to create a lively language learning environment. Students can develop, embed, reinforce and refresh their conjugation skills in a cooperative, communicative and interactive way, independently of the teacher. The questions have a bonus multi-skill focus on listening, speaking, pronunciation, reading and spelling. They’re great for helping students familiarise themselves with, and develop competence in, speaking, reading, writing and spelling in French in general, and certainly in conjugating French ER verbs in the present tense in particular. The questions range in complexity and challenge, and some call upon prior and new knowledge too, helping students make links and build bridges in their learning. There may be some vocabulary that students are not familiar with - these questions give them the opportunity to learn and apply new language too. Other grammatical concepts are addressed in the questions too, such as gender agreement, direct and indirect objects, personal pronouns and question formats in French. The set comprises the following non-editable files: 12 differentiated question cards 4 per A4 (8.5 x 11) paper. The card size allows for more complex sentences, and equally importantly for a font size that is sufficiently large to ensure that language is accessible to students, who are generally at the more initial stages of their French programmes. answer key answer keys are integral to this kind of learning activity: they provide students with additional opportunity to engage with language and help them develop more independence in their learning. To keep prep to a minimum, the answers are given across two pages of A4, which I print double-sided. Here, the text is a little dense, so some students may need additional support if they find the text too small to access successfully. For young and / or beginner German learners, I focus initially on a single time set, and this list shows quarter to the hour on a single page. This is because in my experience students benefit from a very clear outline of new language and vocabulary, avoiding lots of text on a single page - even my older students who are completely new to German prefer this. SPANISH NUMBERS 0-31 I HAVE WHO HAS FREEBIE

(3)
PRIMARY SPANISH KS3 SPANISH NUMBERS 0-31 Tengo ¿Quién tiene? This is a whole-group lively & communicative language learning game, perfect for practising, reinforcing & refreshing how to count from 0 - 31 in Spanish. The game has a multi-skill focus: listening, speaking & reading, with an important bonus focus on social interaction and participation. It’s perfect for pronunciation practice too. The aim of the game is to create a Spanish number chain as quickly as possible, starting with the first card cero, and ending with the final card, treinta y uno. The game works just as well if the number sequence is placed on the floor, a longish table, or other flat surface. I created the game for my young beginner learners, but I’ve also played the game with my adult learners, who really enjoy it too - the monster theme is popular with everyone! The design is four cards per page, which allows for a large font - this is really important for beginner language learners who are starting to familiarize themselves with the written word. Try to print in color if you can - it adds to the visual appeal of the game, which is a real motivator for learning. Download, print out, laminate, cut out & shuffle the cards. I’d definitely recommend you laminate the cards, despite the extra prep and expense. They’re far more learner-friendly, and they will last for absolutely years. Distribute the cards, one or two per student, depending on how many students you have in your group. I often play too - students really do enjoy it when I join in, and they seem to work that little bit harder on their concentration, reading out loud and pronunciation. Students walk around the room, talking to each other in their best Spanish accent, sharing the information on their cards, until they have arranged the numbers in the correct order. The game works best played against a timer, regularly over a longer-term series of lessons - can students beat beat their own time record? I always do some high-speed counting warm-up activities, forwards & backwards, to get everyone ready to play! I like to ensure my beginner French students are able to build a comprehensive French vocabulary bank from the beginning of their learning, and create a whole range of reference lists focusing on high-frequency French vocabulary. The list is ideal as a year-round reference resource, and students find it useful for working in class time or at home. It’s also useful for***beginner French*** students to provide a language learning map, and as a French vocabulary audit and enrichment. This kind of reference resource works well when students keep them carefully in learning binders or folders for current and future reference. They also work well printed double-sided and laminated for small-group work in class. The vocabulary list also shows some plurals and related vocabulary that students are able to use in communicative contexts straightaway, such as au printemps and en hiver. It’s really useful for students to know the correct prepositions for these kinds of sentences, which really does help to promote speaking in the classroom, and enables students to produce more detailed and descriptive language. This is an integral element to successful language learning. Students shouldn’t take on the task of learning long lists of vocabulary all at once though: frequent and regular use in real-world practical contexts is far more successful at embedding vocabulary into longer-term memory. With this particular set of vocabulary there are many cognates and near-cognates, which helps embed the vocabulary too. There are two backgrounds to choose from - French flag, which I generally use for French vocabulary display, and plain. I like to have sets of super simple worksheets that I can give to my Primary French and beginner KS3 French students, not only when they’re new to the target vocabulary, but also for refreshing and revising language they’ve learnt some time ago. Students can generally more easily assimilate new language and vocabulary when they are able to link it in their memory with a visual image, and it’s particularly important to match a clock time with the corresponding clock face when learning how to tell the time. I give my students worksheets at the same time as introducing a particular clock time in French, so that they can practise and embed both recognizing the time, and writing the time phrase itself. Students really enjoy the opportunity to test their recall too. The worksheets are useful in a number of contexts: I use them for cover lessons, as starters, plenaries, five-minute refreshers and home learning activities.
