A news article from Le Monde 16/09/2020. Les mignonnes is a topical cultural subject on cinema that should interest A level students. With my class we read the whole article together and see what we know about the topic without delving too much into the details of the language as this is for the question paper. Working in pairs students answer questions that support them working out meaning through context a verbal and a written translation and some comprehension questions. Depending on the level of your group or individuals further support can be given by the teacher where necessary and a follow up or homework activity set. The question sheet includes the answers to save you time. I hope that you find this useful and that your students enjoy the tasks. Any feedback is welcome!

Workbook, presentation and letter to parents. Everything you need to start planning your day trip to St. Omer the workbook is full of information and tasks for students, from those starting to learn French or those who have been doing it for a while, junior to year 7. I have used it with students who don't study languages and they have enjoyed using it. The presentation is to make sure the students are prepared for the day, designed to be shown in a pre-trip meeting when laying out your expectations for the day. The letter to parents is inviting them to send their child on the day-trip. I have used this format for many years and trips have always gone very smoothly. I hope you have a great day!

St Valentine activity sheet is a fun worksheet to do with students who have some level of French, I made it for my year 8 students and they enjoyed it. Includes word recognition exercises, translation, grammar and extra tasks. Answer sheet included for self/peer/cover supervisor correction.

Gifts - Des cadeaux is a writing frame designed to guide and support students' written work to include a variety of linguistic features necessary for GCSE. The questions and the support phrases are in both French and English, you could leave this as cover work or give as homework or revision in preparation for the written or the spoken exam. I have used this with a top year 9 group as a challenge and they wrote some interesting pieces or with a year 10 or 11 group especially those who need more encouragement.

Developing reading skills. Preparation for an in class activity. Each student completes the form they are then either swapped with another class or collected in by the teacher for display the next lesson.
