OfSted Outstanding Literacy All lessons Starter: With a new shift in focus for the 2012 framework that means that teaching and learning can only be judged outstanding if literacy and numeracy are encorporated across the curriculum, I am making a daily starter / settler activity that can be incorporated into all lessons. These mini activities are examples of a literacy activity & there is a tutorial before each. These are going to be made daily, so I'll upload them é I hope they will help other schools to boost literacy teaching. This one is about extending vocabulary.

I have uploaded 20 lessons in this series in total - each with it's own resources where relevant. Each lesson Powerpoint can be taught as a standalone lesson, or used within the series. Luckily, we will never be in the position again where I have to teach 2 specifications at the same time to the same class. However, this is the scheme that I created last year when this was the approach adopted by the Head. English Functional Skills Lesson 3 Level 1 and 2 These are lessons that are aimed at NC level 5 /6 / GCSE D/C learners who are trying to get Level 1 / 2 in Functional Skills English. I will uploaded as many lessons as I can find. I certainly have the first 4 of this unti that encorporates a little Maths but predominantly English. These lessons look at the notion of family and marriage and whether or not marriage is still relevant.

All our foundation C grade answers - showing pupils what to do to get the C. I get the pupils to sit the mock exam paper before looking at the examples.
