Continuing with the IGCSE Scheme of work - all of my lessons to date are on here to help other teachers who are facing this for the first time. I can only put 20 items on one feed, so I am trying to get them on in as small a bundle as possible. These have taken me ages this year so, if they're useful, please rate them!

These are a selection of lessons with their resources ready to teach on the IGCSE specifiation. It's my first time of teaching it this year and I&'ve taken a skills based approach. Hopefully, these will help others delivering the same qualification for the first time this year - should save hours for other teachers in my position, so please do rate them if you like them!

This is a full lesson with resources that is designed to get pupils thinking about how a cover represents the story – all templates included for analysis as well as the tools for pupils to create their own.

This is a full and detailed lesson that covers the psychology of colour, image use, denotation and connotation. Ideal for media Studies as well as English. For English specifically, it is designed to support pupils when writing about Presentational devices and features.

A lesson starter designed to employ Ofsted's clear focus on literacy. The resource consists of slides that can be copied and pasted into any full lesson powerpoint in order to build a language starter into your lesson. This clarifies the use of apostrophes for both the omission of letter/s in words and to mark the possessive case.

This is another one of my schemes of work for year 9 that mirrors the skills needed for GCSE. In this scheme, pupils pick up the basics of poetry and analyse different poems. The reading assessment is about comparing the poems and then this leads to a writing assessment that starts at the end of the poems. Pupils then turn one of the poems into a moviemaker presentation and you can assess them for speaking and listening as they explain their image choices. Everything is together here.

A full lesson that supports delivery of creative writing using reading image work.

This is a lesson that tests pupils knowledge and understanding of all of the different types of techniques - great for an end of term English fun 'test'.

This is a lesson that I created for an Outstanding showcase of lessons - very active and based on persuasive techniques. I usually put my resources at the end of the PP, so you are likely to find them after the last slide.

A slide that can be used for lots of purposes: for all lessons on spoting persuasive techniques, for display, for literacy across the curriculum - to pass on to ther departments as a tutorial or simply for the pupils books.

This is a full scheme of work that consists of all lessons power points and resources - similar to the one that I've added for Richard III (if you want something less conventional). It&'s for the controlled assessment that compares a Shakespeare play with his Sonnets. The focus of the question is strong feelings of love.

These are the first 18 lessons of a scheme of work that I created last year for DNA by Dennis Kelly. It is aimed at a year 9 class, as the idea is that I am starting to prepare them for GCSE Literature. Therefore, the scheme is a mix of analysis and playing with the text too. I've used a variety of ideas to teach it. All lessons are complete lessons in themselves but you may wish to adapt / cut apart and mix them up, especially if you want to use for GCSE.
