Lesson 6 for Topic 8 looks at how the nutrient cycle operates within the Taiga biome. Processes are draw, described and explained with a clear link to climate. Food webs and chains are explored before a look at biodiversity.

A lesson looking at Peru - Gap Year travel or general geography e.g. volcanic activity, Machu Picchu, Nazca lines and volunteering opportunities in the Jungle. Lots of opportunities for a carousel activity or for pupils to plan a trip to Peru/advertise a poster?

A range of activities looking at how Geography links to Christmas - traditions around the world which pupils can plot on a map as well as discuss. Lots of activities to do including a wordsearch, mind map and quiz!

A lesson looking at a range of Wonders of the World. Main 7 are included but natural and historical ones are added too. Video is included as well as information sheets for each Wonder. Pupils can work on their own or as a group to come up and rank the best 4 - give reasons why and compare! Homework before is to give each pupil a wonder of the world and find out for themselves what makes if a wonder.

KS3 lesson looking at the causes, impacts and awareness of a tornado. Videos included. Pictures included and a range of different viewpoints explored e.g. climate scientist, resident etc.

Lesson suited for Year 10/11 linked to the Edexcel B Geography GCSE Specification (4.1a). Geology is defined before looking at upland and lowland areas within the UK and their characteristics. Reasons for these landscapes (glaciation) tectonics and rock type) are also included.

Lesson 2 linking to Topic 4 (UK Physical Landscape) of the Edexcel Geography GCSE B Specification. 4.1b looks at the 3 main rock types (igneous, metamorphic and sedimentary) as well as how they link to upland and lowland areas.

Lesson 4 linked to Topic 4 (UK Physical Landscape) of the GCSE Edexcel B specification. This lesson looks at how human activities such as agriculture, deforestation (forestry) and settlements have influenced the shape and use of land within the UK. this links to 4.2b of the specification.

A lesson allowing students to work independently and to look at urban vs rural areas. A game of splat is included as well as re-cap opportunities for students. Guess the country flag powerpoint too!

Topic 9 (Geography GCSE Edexcel B) Energy resources - lesson 1 (looking at the 3 different classifications of energy) as well as lesson 2 (environmental issues of obtaining renewable and non-renewable energy)

Lesson 9 looks at methods of making homes and transport more energy efficient. It also looks at methods of conserving energy. Lesson 10 is a summary of energy types (pros and cons) including solar, wind, HEP, biomass, nuclear and hydrogen fuel.

Lesson 11 looks at carbon footprint, energy mix and energy security. Lesson 12 looks at the views on future use of energy between different players (TNCs, governments etc) whether to switch to renewables or carry on with business as usual (fossil fuels). Links to Edexcel GCSE B specification
