Writing Numbers in Standard Form (Scientific Notation)

(0)
This short and simple resource explains to the students briefly what writing numbers in standard form is and then with some very clear and well animated examples, the students can see how to write any number in standard form themselves. This presentation has 9 slides which includes a slide with examples for the students to practice and also the solutions/answers on another slide. Short but very informative and clear for students. I have used with mine on numerous occasions and they have never got confused with standard form thereafter.

Complex Numbers Transformations

(0)
This animated display of the transformations of Complex Numbers allows students to so easily visualise what happens in each transformation. After this Powerpoint is presented to them they will know what is happeneing on the Argand Diagram when they do their calculations. This then allows them to describe the transformation that is occuring (this is a very commonly asked question in the exam). This is an unbelievably useful tool and after I used it in my lessons I was able to then upload it to my classes Google Classroom where they can access it and continuously remind themselves of the transformations. Students themselves found it extremely easy to follow and very often asked me to send it to them so they could use it in the run - in of their exams.

Finding the mean, median, mode & range of a stem and leaf diagram

(0)
This animated Powerpoint on finding the mean, median, mode & range of a stem - and - leaf diagram makes it so easy for students to know how to find each one in detail. In the Powerpoint, the mean is found with all work shown, the mode is clearly identified for students and there is step - by - step slides on finding the median. The range is also calculated on the stem - and - leaf included. This Powerpoint can be used from 1st Year when students are generally first introduced to the stem - and -leaf diagram all the way up to 5th/6th Year. With this Powerpoint you will not need to look any further as students will find it extremely easy to follow and will be very sure on what calculations to do for each of the central tendencies and the range. All of my students have always given positive feedback and found it extremely useful.

Finding the mean, median & mode of a Frequency Table & Grouped Frequency Tables

(0)
This animated Powerpoint presentation illustrates to the students how to find the mean, median & mode of both a frequency table & a grouped frequency table. Each slide is animated brilliantly so that the teacher has the time to teach the students the steps to take when finding all of the central tendencies. The tables and methods used within the Powerpoint are so simple and the students can see clearly how to find and write down each of the central tendencies. All of my students found it so simple to learn from and loved how everything was animated in step - by - step. Can be used for 2nd/3rd Years up to senior cycle years of 5th and 6th Years.
Geometry Angles & Triangles Fun Activity

Geometry Angles & Triangles Fun Activity

(0)
This activity is so much fun and one that every class that I have done it with has always enjoyed. It really helps the students to learn how to solve for angles and give geometrical reasons why the angles are the sizes that they are. Basically to use this I get every student in the class to stand up and I start the Powerpoint. Every student must have their own calculator. When someone has the answer to the question they shout their name and they get the opportunity to give their answer. If they are correct they get to sit down. Another student gets an opportunity to give a reason for the answer and if they are correct they get to sit down. Basically if they give a correct answer they get to sit down. The trick is that if someone gets an answer wrong (angle size or reason), the whole class has to stand up again. It is great fun as the aim of the game is to get every student to be sitting down (If they manage it I always give no homework or a treat or something). The students get really into it and always enjoy it every time I do it with them. There are 37 slides and each one is animated so the answers will only be revealed when you press the button. This gives plenty of opportunity for students to answer questions. GREAT revision tool. You can use it in many other ways too.

Adding and Subtracting Like Terms in Algebra

(0)
This exceptional resource goes through the very basics of adding and subtracting like terms and then goes further into teaching the students how to simplify an algebraic expression after identifying the like terms. There is great visualisations included as the like terms are identified and highlighted with different shapes and colours, a very good habit to get the students into when they are working on these questions. This resource includes two excellent Powerpoints for teaching, two excellent worksheets which can be easily used for differentiated learning and then all solutions for both worksheets are included in two animated Powerpoints. Thsi resource is bothe very teacher and student friendly and is very accessible for all tyoes of students. It is a must - have for teachers as the worksheets can be easily corrected using the animated Powerpoints and this allows the teacher to circle the classroom and look at individual students work while correcting.

Describing the Shape of a Distribution

(0)
This animated Powerpoint presentation illustrates clearly to students how to correctly identify and describe the shape of distributions including the histograms and stem - and - leaf plot diagrams. In particular the Powerpoint presentation shows students how to comment on the shape of the left side of a back - to - back stem and leaf diagram. This presentation makes it so simple for teachers to show the students how to make their comments and their descriptions. It is a presentation that can be used from 3rd Year up to 6th Year when covering the topic of Statistics.

Solving Linear Equations 1 including Worksheet & Solutions

(0)
This animated PowerPoint presentation accompanied by a 30 question worksheet and PowerPoint solutions is all you need to introduce students to the concept of solving linear equations. With the students first introduced to the idea of the equals sign acting like a balance on a see-saw they can easily see how linear equations are solved and why each step is taken in the process, which is of utmost importance. It prepares them for further more complicated linear equations they will have to solve (which I also have similar resources uploaded for). This resource is so teacher friendly also as the worksheet has animated PowerPoint presentation solutions which allows the teacher to circle the classroom while correcting the homework. All you will need is a remote control for your overhead projector. It has worked for me everytime I have taught this topic.

Highest Common Factorising (HCF)

(0)
This unique and equally excellent resource clearly introduces what Factorising is to the students and then fully explains and covers Highest Common Factorising. There is a very detailed and clear animated Powerpoint Presentation with many examples and then two classwork/homework worksheets(Worksheet 1(simple) - 16 questions and Worksheet 2(more advanced)- 16 questions). There are also two animated Powerpoint presentations accompanying these worksheets with all of the solutions to each worksheet. Also, each factorised expression is multiplied back out for students to check their answer, giving students an opportunity to practice their multiplication of expressions also. This allows for very accessible and simple corrections. Finally there is a matching activity which gives the students a chance to work in groups and match each given expression with its equivalent factorised expression.
