This PowerPoint (with suggested practical demonstrations) will allow you to teach a range of abilities about Rates of Reaction and how to plot them graphically. Contrary to the suggested teaching order, this lesson is best delivered after teaching about collision theory and factors affecting reaction rate. The lesson consolidates factors affecting reaction rate, demonstrates the techniques used in the subsequent core practical, and provides much needed practice at drawing, interpreting and annotating reaction rate curves. The resource meets all required specification points for the Edexcel 9-1 GCSE Chemistry course. It is accessible for students, easy to follow for teachers and is appropriate for Combined and Triple Science classes, Foundation and Higher tiers.

Full Lesson PowerPoint sufficient to teach the GCSE 9-1 specification Chemistry lesson on Dynamic Equilibrium. The resource is easy to follow for teachers and readily accessible for students. For Combined Science, Foundation students only need to cover the first two objectives; Higher tier candidates also need to learn about factors affecting the position of the equilibrium. Triple Science students also need to do the follow-up lesson (SC15b) on Factors affecting Equilibria. A clearer version of the worksheet can be downloaded from my shop in needed. These PowerPoints and worksheets will allow you to teach HIGHER TIER ONLY GCSE Chemistry content on Moles. This lesson introduces the concept of a mole in terms of Avogadro’s number, exemplifies how to calculate the number of moles from mass of a substance and vice versa, and shows how to use moles to calculate numbers of particles of a substance **There are two versions of this lesson and worksheet provided. One is aimed at Triple Science students only, as it includes coverage of concentrations in mol dm-3, which is something that Combined Science students do not need to learn ** Other lessons on Calculations involving Mass (including subsequent lessons on using moles) are available from my shop.
