Electrolysis of Copper Sulphate GCSE Core Practical lesson (SC10a CC10a)

(0)
This PowerPoint will allow you to deliver the GCSE 9-1 Chemistry Core Practical in which electrolysis of copper sulphate solution is performed using copper electrodes. It includes the background theory that students need to know. The experiment is complex and time-consuming, so I have suggested some short-cuts and have provided easy-to-follow methods to share with students. I’ve also included exemplar data for students to analyse if their experimental data is not sufficient. The resources are easy to follow for teachers and readily accessible for students. This is required learning for Combined and Triple Science classes, Foundation and High-tier. Other GCSE lessons (including other lessons on Electrolysis) are available from my shop. They can be purchased individually or, alongside this lesson, as part of a whole-topic bundle.

These PowerPoints will allow you to teach students the GCSE 9-1 Chemistry required content on Solubility and Precipitates. Two full lesson PowerPoints are provided: Solubility and Precipitates Covers the solubility rules and what happens during precipitation reactions plus some Higher-tier only content on ionic equations. Making a precipitate In this lesson students are able to learn the method to make their own pure, dried precipitate. The resources are easy to follow for teachers, readily accessible for students and are appropriate for Combined and Triple Science classes. Other GCSE lessons are available from my shop. They can be purchased individually or, alongside this lesson, as part of a whole-topic bundle.

Science Practical Skills - 3 full lessons KS3

4 Resources
This bundle contains three full lesson PowerPoints which focus solely on teaching students about the basics of safe and accurate practical work. These lessons should be delivered before going on to teach other Year 7 Science topics which involve using lab equipment, measuring masses, making solutions or using Bunsen burners. This bundle could also be used to engage lower ability KS4 classes who need work on their practical skills before attempting GCSE Required Practical lessons. My suggested teaching order: Equipment and Safety, Measuring Skills, Bunsen Burners. I have many other KS3 lessons and bundles available so please check out my shop, OnSpecScience.
