I am a head of English who provides high quality English resources for KS3, 4 and 5. All of the lessons I produce have been created in line with the recent developments in curriculum: explicit teaching of knowledge and vocabulary with a range of proven teaching and learning strategies, including low-stakes testing and 'interleaving' of vital knowledge.

This is a comprehensive study of Shakespeare’s ‘Hamlet’. The scheme of work has been created with the aim of introducing KS3 students to the tragedy genre in preparation for studying ‘Macbeth’ at KS4. The scheme of work takes students and teachers through the whole play, studying each scene and making links to other set texts at KS4 and KS5 such as Macbeth, Othello and A Christmas Carol. There is a lesson on every scene. Each lesson sets knowledge goals and introduces key vocabulary needed to achieve the highest grades when studying Shakespeare at KS4.

This is a quick annotation lesson helping students analyse the impact of setting in the novella. I have included preprepared annotations but these can be deleted by the teacher or used in discussion following whole-class guided annotations.

A Christmas Carol Revision Fred

A useful resource for revising Fred’s role in characterising Scrooge. The Bell Task is a low-stakes test on An Inspector Calls which my class are also studying. This can be easily amended for classes studying a different text.
