Year 1 - The Weather (Non-Chronological Report) This unit worked really well with my class and the children (especially the boys) loved writing instructions for Bee-bot and how to draw an owl. Differentiated tasks and helpful presentations, notebooks and unit plan to help deliver the unit.

Year 1 - My First Day at School (key skill - capital letters). The unit of work is based on the book by Janet Ahlberg and Allan Ahlberg ‘Starting School’. It includes display headings and posters. There are a series of lessons which are differentiated for a range of abilities. The key skill focuses on using capital letters.

As well as learning objectives, title, word definitions and vocabulary cards for displays / reading areas. All my resources are tried and tested within my own class and I’m really pleased with the results.

George’s Marvellous Medicine - Reading Comprehension I have used this resource with my class and the children have really enjoyed the tasks. Each lesson is based on a chapter from the book. The questions cover a range of different questions types and the activities have an extension task. The resources also include a unit cover and display / working wall resources. E.g. This Guided Reading resource is aimed at Year 3 children. The pack includes; a text, questions and answers and a teaching PowerPoint. The resources are ready to go and include learning objectives on the Q&A sheets. All the resources have been tried and test with my own class. The questions focus on the key elements for reading; vocabulary, retrieval, inference. However, the set of resources may also include other skills such as; summarising, predicting, sequencing, and explaining.
