I have a wealth of resources that are aimed primarily at KS4 and KS5; however, there are some useful KS3 tasks that have been uploaded this year. Topics at KS5 include: Russia and its Rulers, 1855-1941; Later Tudors, 1547-1603; Popular Culture and the Witchcraze of the 16th and 17th Centuries; Italian Unification, 1830-1870; and Germany, 1890-1990. As well as History, I also have a few resources relating to Geography and ICT that some users may find helpful.

I have included Elizabethan foreign policy resources to enhance wider understanding, as this does not feature in the new spec).

'Historical Heights' History Display

The display consists of several heads of historical figures in a line across the board; however, each head is positioned at the actual height they would have stood (5ft 5in, 6ft 2in etc.) Students love walking past and measuring themselves against Hitler, Queen Victoria etc. Included are several Historical heads, the names/heights, titles and a key for the side of the display. All that is needed are coloured strips that run vertically from the bottom of the display to the relevant head (see link). I used the coloured border rolls for these! Enjoy!

A set of 22 revision dominoes for the OCR Later Tudors course. Can also be used for any course covering the Mid Tudor Crisis and reign of Elizabeth I. Really useful as a starter activity - hand one domino to each pupil and have them read out the date, the pupil with the corresponding event reads this out and then reads out their date. A detailed History Handbook that can easily be tweaked to suit your school's Department. Included is information on relevant policies and I have highlighted in red the things that will need to be tweaked/filled in to make this document relevant to your school. This is an extensive document (30 pages, hence the price) that took a long time to put together. I have left in marking grids and SOW that I feel could be useful. I hope this is helpful!

Included are various resources relating to microclimates that formed part of our field work in Year 7 Geography. Students review how to measure the weather, are introduced to microclimates and then label a diagram. Other resources are for use on the day of the field work, where students walk around the school grounds to pre-determined location to measure the weather; they then think about land use and make decisions. I have also included an 'Exploring Microclimates' PDF provided by School Grounds UK/Learning Through Landscapes. This gives instructions on how to carry out microclimate field work.

Resources relating to a Year 7 Geography lesson on sketch maps. Included alongside the lesson plan is a PowerPoint presentation. Students have to review the features of a map using the coloured pages in their books and sketch maps are then introduced. As an activity/homework, students create their own sketch maps of a theme park, adding in various symbols and making it visually appealing/informative. I printed off a couple of maps of Alton Towers/Thorpe Park to pass around the class (as shown on the PowerPoint), so students could see the level of detail (or lack of it) they needed.

This content is relevant for the new OCR unit on Popular Culture and the Witch Craze. Using the Access to History text book (or their notes, if being used as a revision exercise) students make notes on the legal process surrounding witchcraft accusations. The first sheet relates to the process in Continental Europe, with the second worksheet being relevant to England. Students can then compare the two processes and suggest reasons why more people were accused/executed for witchcraft on the continent. This resource was designed for the new AQA History GCSE unit: Restoration England, 1660-1685; however, it would be suitable for any topic on classical/baroque architecture. All images have been sourced from WikiCommons and are Open Access files. Students can be given the set of images at the beginning of the lesson and must separate them into two piles without any prior knowledge (one interior and three exterior per style). The teacher can then go through the PowerPoint explaining the differences between the two styles, before the students rearrange their images based on this new knowledge. They can then stick these on to two pages in their books with the comparison table, labelling the key features on the photos.

Two activities to run alongside the OCR or Edexcel Textbooks on the witch craze. This is designed specifically for the A Level Topic: Popular Culture and the Witchcraze of the Sixteenth and Seventeenth Centuries from OCR. Students can read the text book (and read around the topic), adding detail to their family tree. What were the relationships? Who were the characters? What happened to each of the accused witches? They can also fill in the timeline using the information from the text book and other sources. This resource is intended to supplement other resources on the Lancashire Witch Trials.

Students are given a visual source (WikiCommons) and are tasked with analysing/evaluating the source for homework. This is a great worksheet to complete towards the end of the slavery topic, as the students will be able to appreciate the sentiments of the image. A handout and PowerPoint presentation created in support of the Edexcel AS Level unit: The Unification of Italy, 1830-1870. Included is a blank copy of a revision diagram to allow students to write notes in an ordered way on the 1830 revolutions. Ideally this would be blown up to A3 and a map of Italy has been included for reference. Also included is a detailed, completed copy of the handout using a number of text books. Lower ability students could be given this to support note taking or this could be shown on a projector and talked through in class. To accompany these materials, I have put together a detailed PowerPoint presentation to introduce the content. It provides an introduction to the subject as well as a summary of the 1830 Revolutions.
