#### Applying multiplication and division, area and volume - FULL LESSON

This lesson links multiplication to area and volume, using the ‘squared paper’ method of multiplication. It also introduces the ‘squared paper’ method of division (given a sum such as 12/4, on squared paper students outline the number they have to divide, and count out blocks of the number they are dividing by; the number of blocks is the answer). They then apply these skills to the real-life problem of decorating a room. This is one of a bundle of 11 Functional Skills Maths Number lessons I have on TES.
