Students are not always sitting at their desks as there is a write the room activity to get them moving around. Content: Match up 2D apples shapes to 2D shapes with Answer Sheets Write the room activity: Worksheets A-D and 2D apple shape cards to cut out and laminate Crack the code vowels activity: Naming the 2D shapes with Answer Sheets Counting 2D apples shapes with Answer Sheets Black and white worksheets and 2D shapes cards included The shapes are: circle, semi-circle, square, triangle, rectangle, star, heart, crescent, trapezoid, pentagon, hexagon, heptagon, octagon, nonagon, decagon, parallelogram and rhombus (diamond). Write the Room with 2D apple shape cards Worksheets A to D (differentiated) with guidelines, without guidelines and trace over shape words. Direction: Laminate the 2D shape cards (17) and cut out. Place the cards around the classroom. Ensure each student has the same worksheet letter, e.g. Worksheet A, with clipboard and pencil. As students move around the class individually or as a pair, they find the matching shapes that are on their worksheet and write the name of the shapes. When they complete a worksheet, you can give out the next worksheet and repeat the activity. As well as counting 2D apples shapes on trees, there is a crack the code vowel activity. In place of vowels are autumn pictures which students work out using the code table to write the name of the shapes. This is a lovely autumn product which you can also use all year round to review shapes. Addition doubles Objective: To know the same number added together is doubling. Students will see the same number of apples on each dice which they should add together and write the total. Near doubles Students should use their knowledge of doubles to quickly work out the answers to the near doubles sums. Counting on to add Objective: To start from any number and count on. Students will practice counting on from any number by putting the first number in their head and then counting the number of apples on the dice. Missing apples equation (2 Sets of worksheets) Students work out how many apples are missing from the dice and then draw them to balance the equation. Writing addition number sentences (with 2 dice) Two dice are shown – students write number sentences by looking at the number of apples on each dice. The first sum is completed as an example. This resource relates to CVC phonic word work. These are worksheets you can use to supplement your work on CVC words using the medial vowels a, e, i, o and u. The worksheets are in colour and black and white. **Optional: **I have now included fillable sections. Students look at the pictures and then choose from a set of 5 letters to spell the three-letter CVC words. This product relates to alphabet activities for Pre-K/K, SEN and EFL/ESL students. Content Teacher’s notes 2 Sets of Aa-Zz puzzle pieces – Cut/paste Aa-Zz -Matching letters of the alphabet to pictures Aa-Zz - Tracing over letters and matching to pictures Cut and Paste to match Puzzle pieces Place a selection of Aa – Zz puzzle sheets on tables for children to cut out and match upper and lower case letters and stick into workbook or on a separate sheet of paper. They can trace inside the letters with different color pencils or crayons (rainbow tracing). For the uppercase part of the puzzle ask students to write words beginning with capital letters such as their name if it begins with that letter, a city, day or month, a place of interest etc and draw pictures. For the lowercase part of the puzzle, ask students to write and draw things beginning with that letter that does not always begin with a capital letter. Please see sample preview in preview pane. Matching letters to pictures and color activity ‘Aa is for’ to ‘Zz is for’ activity – tell children they need to color in the picture that begins with that letter and not to color in the other pictures. Tracing over letters and matching to pictures This alphabet activity is similar to the above except that the children trace over the dots. This product relates to alphabet uppercase and lowercase letters and pictures beginning with letters of alphabet and displays for classroom. Aa to Zz friezes (labeled and unlabeled pictures). Laminate and punch holes and thread through with a string to hang around the classroom or peg onto a washing line across a wall. Aa – Zz word strips and related pictures Laminate and cut out and place in resource center Students trace over the initial dotted letter with dry-wipe pen Alphabet cards Alphabet cards to be printed off as many times as you require, laminate and cut out. students can play alphabet snap. Match up - Match lower case letters to upper case letters. Other games – lay out 4 or 5 letters in alphabetical order, e.g. k, l, m, n, o, cover them over. Take a letter away without the students seeing and ask which letter is missing. Practice writing frames using Sassoon dotted font These are in upper and lower cases. Each one should be laminated. After focussing on e.g. ‘t’, students can practice writing over the dots and then without the dots on the line. Alphabet Mat Practice (trace over dotted letters) Copy and laminate Students can keep it in their own trays Alphabet Mat Can be laminated and blu tac to the wall in the writing/reading/book corner. Can be used to assess a student’s phonic progress - name and sound out the letters Alphabet Pictures Games The pictures represent the start of a letter e.g. ‘g’ for grasshopper. The pictures are not in alphabetical order so students have to look for the picture that begins with that letter. Enlarge the A4 size sheet to A3 and the sheet with the alphabet. Laminate the Alphabet Pictures sheet Laminate the Alphabet sheet then cut out each letter tile for use with Alphabet Pictures. Students can play in pairs. A timer can be set to make the game more fun. A student asks his/her partner to find the picture beginning with ‘s’. The other student picks out one of the letters and places it over that picture on the Alphabet Picture Mat.
