This resource bundle includes a 15 slide powerpoint and two learning mats which can be delivered as 1 or 2 lessons. It also comes complete with resources to aid the session including; example responses to mark, ‘command words’ handout, which breaks down the meaning of each and which objective each command word is asking students to focus on (AO1,AO2,AO3) as recommended by AQA and homework tasks to aid further understanding. The focus is on how to write 6/6 or 9/9 mark responses to extended answer questions in line with the new AQA GCSE PE course. This PowerPoint has been created based on the new 9-1 specification, it uses the KNOWLEDGE (AO1), APPLY (AO2), SAY WHY (AO3) ‘process’ which students are encouraged to use to help structure responses to long answer questions. The two learning mats provide worthwhile learning activities which guide students to create a plan for structuring their response before they answer the example questions. it also uses specimen questions and answers to support learning. This lesson should be taught to KS4 GCSE PE students to enable them to understand the ‘process’ of answering questions and the importance of this paired with the knowledge of content to achieve high grades.

A vital teaching resource, this structuring 2 page activity has been created to help students to plan their response to a 15 mark question in line with the new AQA A Level PE course. Page 1/stage 1 gives the guidance of planning and allows students to start recording knowledge and page 2/stage 2 includes sentence starters and content tips as well as continued tasks. This method uses the 'process'of Knowledge (AO1), Apply (AO2) and Say Why (AO3) to answer questions fully, inline with the mark scheme, giving students the best chance of achieving a high grade in their long answer written responses. This fully planned unit of work includes 6 detailed lesson plans and a student task workbook (28 pages). The lessons are differentiated and include numerous tasks to increase student progress.
