An Inspector Calls - Scheme of Work
This is a ready-to-teach GCSE scheme of work for An Inspector Calls, with 19 high quality lessons. It was designed with the AQA specification in mind but would take minimal adaptation to fit other specifications.
This SOW makes use of a variety of pedagogical techniques, appropriately differentiated to enable all learners to succeed. The lessons include but are not limited to: using talk targets for student discussions; explicitly teaching challenging vocabulary and embedding it into the lesson; purposeful specific pause points throughout reading with questions to guide annotations; quotation recall embedded throughout; and a variety of question options to enable students to challenge themselves in their writing.

This example has comments throughout and WWWs and EBIs at the end.
Could be a really useful resource for students to practice assessing essay and identifying strengths and weaknesses in essay writing strategies.

This homework booklet for An Inspector Calls guides students to analyse the language of the play throughout the 3 Acts.
Students are give a list of key techniques to look out for and space to write their analysis in relation to Priestley’s message.
Great resource for homework or to be used in class alongside reading the play.

I use this resource in my classroom to better enable my GCSE students to memorise and use quotations in their writing.
Tip: To make the display more long lasting I highly recommend cutting everything out and laminating it.

Frankenstein - Scheme of Work
This is a ready-to-teach GCSE scheme of work for Frankenstein, with 29 high quality lessons. It was designed with the AQA specification in mind but would take minimal adaptation to fit other specifications.
This SOW makes use of a variety of pedagogical techniques, appropriately differentiated to enable all learners to succeed. *The DO NOW activities may need adapting as they include some recall references to the Power and Conflict poetry cluster as well as some specific strategies for Language Paper 1 that I use within my teaching.
