Connective Fans

(4)
A series of connective fans that are designed to be printed and stuck together with a split pin. Each fan has lots of suggestions of possible connectives / conjunctions that could be used in children's writing. They range from level 1-5 and are available in both fabulous colours or black and white to print onto coloured paper. You could give a child a full set or just the level they are working on. Print them, hand them out and see how many connectives/conjunctions they can use

Relative Clauses Display

(5)
A simple guide to what relative clauses are used for and suggested words to use in sentences. I have printed them back-to-back and hung them from the ceiling. It has got my children using them more often in their work and knowing what they mean just in case they come up in SATs!

Big Write Story Prompts: What's the story?

(0)
30 weeks worth of writing prompts cards designed for Big Write or any extended writing sessions. Each prompt card contains 5 categories (characters, settings, problems, openings and endings) to help shape interesting and original stories – all the students need to do is shade the story they would like to write, stick it in their books and begin. They are intended as prompts to aid story construction with enough flexibility to create a myriad of different tales. E.g. the card might say a story that involves a King but he could be evil, peaceful or untrustworthy it is total up to them how they shape their story.
