This was made for a top set year 11 iGCSE class and features on the older Cambridge iGCSE syllabus. It is still relevant for all students studying resistance (fixed and variable) in electrical circuits and systems.

Year 8 double lesson with worksheets and answers. The first reaction is between sulphur and iron to make iron sulphide. Students identify the properties of both reactants and the product. The second experiment is asking the class to calculate the mass of a raw egg and predict the mass after it has been hard boiled. The second part of the lesson requires the teacher to explain more details about the differences between physical and chemical reactions. Simple formulas and equations are then used to consolidate learning then finishing the lessons with an example of a chemical reaction (fire triangle). Answers provided for students to peer assess and mark students work.
