My year 10's asked for a revision lesson (x2) on unit P1.3. Most sections that pupils struggle with are contained in this ppt. Humorous and engaging, plenty of activities and clearly written. There are some obvious &'mistakes&'; in some of the calculations to ascertain if pupils are understanding the work. They all said that they found it very useful and funny.

This is a PPT lesson with printable slides for students to use as worksheets (in groups is best). Year 8. An introduction to the basics of light. Content - dispersion of light through a prism, translucent, transparent and opaque. Designed for a 45 minute lesson but can be drawn out. Includes homework suggestion. The video reference in the ppt is for any youtube clip of prisms and dispersion of light.

I found very few resources for this odd topic in iGCSE physics so i created this powerpoint for my classes. It explains the differences between the three logic gates and also when two or more are combined. There is an intro to boolean language and binary but not too much. It was used for a top set Year 11 iGCSE class but can possibly be used for lower age groups.

An engaging resource for students to practice their understanding of the two pressure formulas: P=height x density x gravity and P= force/area. Students have to calculate the pressure that each animal/person is subjected to at different depths in sea water. They are given the lethal force required for each organism, using the P=f/a formula they have to work out if they survive or not. Extension activities could include - finding out the maximum depth they have to be at before they would die etc... You could ask the students to find a liquid that has a much lower density in which the organisms could survive greater depths. My students loved it and I hope your students do too. Enjoy!

This lesson looks at that materials used in building the Shard tower and the environmental impact of it's construction. Glass facade and recycled steel strcuture. 3 part lesson, could be made into 2 lessons/homework. Powerpoint presentation and accompanying information handout. Having science museum putty is an advantage but not essential.
