It currently includes 2 short units of writing (Narrative and a Balanced Argument) is assumed at this point in the year that the children have been taught the skills required, but revision opportunities are offered in the scheme. The units do not need to be taught as a series or in a particular order and can be viewed as single tasks. Equally, lessons can be spread over more than one day to support the children. All example texts have been written to demonstrate the skills and grammar required by the Interim Assessment Framework. This bundle has been designed to help collect further evidence to support year 6 teacher judgments against age related standards. It also includes a heavily structured editing lesson that explicitly teaches the children how to edit and improve their own writing.
