This lesson looks at the appointment of Gorbachev and the reasons for why he wanted to reform the Soviet Union. Component 1: UK Politics - Democracy and Participation Detailed lesson on the current systems of representative and direct democracy in the UK. The lesson also looks at participation in politics and whether there is a democratic deficit in the UK. This lesson has been planned for the new Edexcel specification. It includes an exam guide on how to answer questions in the A-Level exam, case studies that link to the content and activities that encourages student-led learning. There is a flipped learning task on the franchise, it’s history and whether it should be extended to 16 year old’s. The Knowledge House produce outstanding lessons for the new specification by using content from the three approved textbooks from Hodder and Edexcel. However, you will not need the textbooks for these lessons.
