French - Label the countries in Europe

Differences between France and the UK

(0)
This PPT introduces some differences between France and the UK. Go through the chosen differences with students, allowing them to guess which country it refers to. The following slides are extra bits of information. Students use the clues to work out what the differences could be. Finally, give students facts in French to translate – they then choose a square and if there’s a treasure underneath, they get the point for their team. This activity can be done in pairs or as a class. As a class, one pupil leaves the room while everyone else decides what the correct sequence should be. The pupil re-enters the room and tries to guess the sequence. If incorrect, they have to start again. It's better as a pairwork activity. One pupil decides which options they want to use in the complete paragraph. The other reads through the paragraph, guessing the options as they go. If incorrect, they must start again. Cue lots of laughter!

French - Simple future Connect 4

This Connect 4 game practises the simple future of both regular and irregular verbs in French. Pupils work in two teams (red and blue) and their objective is to get 4 (or 3, if you prefer) of their coloured rectangles in a row. This can be vertically, horizontally or diagonally. In presentation mode, click on the relevant coloured circle to change the colour of the rectangle.
