AQA Physics Trilogy Diagnostic Assessment
**Powerpoint online not supported **A Microsoft PowerPoint multiple choice style assessment covering the AQA Trilogy Physics topics 2018 /2019. The assessment identifies gaps in knowledge and topics of weakness. Self marking and automatic feedback (you must enable macros when prompted). I have included the Questions and answers in case you have technical problems or want them to do this in a cover lesson. Also printing function allowing students to name and print the feedback. See the whole set in a bundle here
iGCSE Cambridge Biology 0610 in pictures
Revision in pictures covering the iGCSE Cambridge Spec. Recall and make links between topics. Microsoft PowerPoint.
AQA Science Trilogy Assessment Bundle Biology, Chemistry, Physics
Requires Microsoft PowerPoint. 150 Multiple choice questions from the new specification. If Macros are enabled when prompted at the start of the presentation, the powerpoint will mark itself and give feedback (topics of weakness and more specific question feedback). Could be used at the start and end of the year to measure progress. Students can print results on slide 52 and use the feedback for independent learning or homework. I hope this saves you lots of marking. I have included hard copies of the questions and answers in case the ICT lets you down or you want to use it for a cover lesson.
Microorganisms - Virus, Bacteria, Fungi
Students are introduced to the different microorganisms and their contrasting structure. Students compare the scale of the microorganisms to familiar objects. Students will then research the microorganisms further and present their findings scientifically (using one of 6 randomly selected scientific formats).
Bespoke Science Resources for Science club, STEM club and lesson activity ideas.
Infographs, posters, games, space, physics, lesson ideas, science club, STEM club. Whatever your requirements we create bespoke resources for your classroom. Simply e-mail your requirements to stemhub1@gmail.com by Thursday for the following week. If you are not satisfied with your resource we will give you a refund - the fee taken by TES. We look forward to bringing your ideas to life!
Circuits and Models
Students can use models to describe difficult concepts relating to electricity. Also covers circuit symbols and series and parallel circuits. Assessment opportunities throughout.
Bundle
Elements to Atoms to Bonding
Taking the rock out of rocket science and giving students a chance to grasp the concept. From elements to atoms to bond formation. Free STEM Trump cards
Earthquakes Seismic Waves Longitudinal Waves
An introduction to earthquakes and the waves generated. Take some time to build the Jelly baby wave generator (instructions and hints included
Space and Scale Modelling Activity
Introduces students to the vastness of Space. Students create a scale for the planets using the space data. Good opportunity for numeracy and practical if you can get hold of some play-dough (recipe included).
pH Scale Acid and Base activity
Perform the pH practical activity to test the suggested chemicals and / or display slide 3 for those that you cannot test. Print slide 2 for students who must colour the pH scale and place the chemicals alongside the periodic table. As a plenary ask students to record which chemicals will neutralise each other (e.g. wasp sting --> Bee Sting).
Villi, Digestive Enzymes and modelling absorption activity
The presentation considers the adaptation of Villi to perform their role. Investigate how the structure of Villi make it effective at absorbing water and nutrients. The worksheet explores digestive enzymes and assesses the students understanding.
Create a sustainable battery!
Students are introduced to the history of the battery and how it works. Students make a salt battery using readily available equipment (salt, steel foil, graphite rods, card, water, plastic beaker). Use a multi meter (set to (milliamp) to test the effectiveness of their batteries.

Simple Combustion practical - Easy to resource
A PowerPoint with supporting instructions, starter and extension activities. Best if you use tealight candles. Encourages students to consider variables and to make accurate measurements. Students draw a graph to show their results. If students are difficult to motivate then ask them to estimate how long a candle would last in a specific volume (i.e. 300ml beaker) which they will have to produce a graph to extrapolate or interpolate to find this out. You could test a 300ml beaker at the end to test this. The extension activity promotes higher level scientific thought. It is unknown if the carbon dioxide smothers the candle or if the oxygen runs out first. Most students will say the taller candle as this will last longer!
AQA Trilogy Chemistry Assessment Auto Feedback / Marking
A PowerPoint based multiple choice assessment for AQA Trilogy Combined GCSE. Best used where ICT is available. Students complete 50 multiple choice questions and if macros have been enabled (students are prompted to do this) the assessment will mark itself and give detailed feedback on topics of weakness and areas for development. The feedback can be easily printed (slide 52) and students can perform research on the suggested topics.
I have included a paper copy of the quiz in case the computers let you down or this is a cover lesson.
