A first day back inspirational resource. Use this poem to find out what the children want to achieve this year and how they are going to achieve it. Use it to start a discussion on working together and how to achieve that.

This could be used to introduce how plants grow, different types of food around the world, the history of the Harvest, what harvest means to different people around the world, how we get energy from food, how we use foods to celebrate, or just to get the children thinking about harvest time and what they see around them and what harvest time means to them.

I made this for inspiring the children who find poetry difficult. Its a fun look at the day and shows what the children could get out of it. Hope you enjoy it.

The other side of the info mat develops the actions into creative writing. Sentences are developed using a set of rules which the children can follow.
