This PPT includes a fun lesson about Christmas, practising vocab as well as cultural knowledge. I use it from year 8 onwards but it could be suitable for year 7s if you give them clues. What to expect in this resource: Christmas vocab match up a quiz in 3 rounds that students can play in teams round 1 = music - titles given in French and students have to find the English songs round 2 = Christmas films French titles round 3 = Christmas traditions in France a game with a French Christmas song Answers are included in the teacher’s notes on each slide. Could be used independently or following a lesson where you introduce French Christmas customs (check out my page for more Christmas lessons).

Disclaimer: I am not a historian! This is based on my memory from school and a lot of research to refresh my memory. It is simplified to fit in one lesson and is aimed at MFL teachers for cultural awareness. It is made completely from scratch. This resource includes: the history of French revolution summarised in simple animated slides an explanation of the French flag how the French celebrate the 14th July a lot of teacher notes to provide guidance and allow you to devleop (or not) on some ideas and answer questions that pupils might have a storyboard activity *** 2 versions - one in English with key words in French and one fully in French!** Any feedback/comments would be greatly appreciated :)
