In this CVC word booklet you will find 4 worksheets that will give children who are just starting out on their writing journey a chance to explore CVC words. Children should use the letters/sounds at the bottom of the page to cut and stick them in the right order therefore spelling the word that matches the picture. Children are then given the opportunity to write the word for themselves using the printed word above as guidance. It is a really easy game that children enjoy which can be used time and time again as part of literacy centres, as part of a literacy play rotation or as a starter/finisher task for a bit of extra practice. Children simply select the green “GO” card to start. They then read the sound on the card and find a picture that starts with that same sound. They continue until they reach the red “STOP” sign. Sets can be looped together for a longer game simply by placing a “GO” card straight after the “STOP” card. This CKEHRMD loop card set can also be used in combination with the SATIPN loop card game to revise both groups together. Simply discard the second card (the card containing “GO”) in each set of the CKEHRMD dominoes and play as normal. This game can be played individually or children can work together to complete the loop card set.
