Snippets from chapters 1,2 & 3 from An Alien in the Jam Factory and a set of VIPERS questions to go with them. Used with a slightly low ability year 3 class.

Model text of a flashback story created for an able Year 6 class. Also included a simpler one I wrote for the lower ability children to access.

Ok so the story is a spin-off of that famous shark film that we all know, but I wrote this newspaper report as a model text for Year 6. They were focusing on telling the events of the report through quotes. Enjoy!

An incredibly simple resource, which has led to consistently good results in the Year 6 SPAG test. The PowerPoint explains how the starter works, and then includes over 60 slides to be used and adapted to suit your class. I am a Year 6 teacher but it can be used with any KS2 age as it includes grammar content from all 4 of the year groups. It has been observed on more than one occasion with 'outstanding' feedback, and is now implemented across my whole school and is getting results both academically but also with self-esteem. A powerpoint containing key vocabulary to discuss with the children for each chapter of Thief by Malorie Blackman, and a set of questions for each chapter as well. Some chapters also contain one or more drama or writing activities as options as well. Used with several Year 6 classes over the years.
