Hi, I'm a secondary science teacher from a comprehensive school in Cornwall. Just selling and sharing on resources which I've put my time into that have proven successful with students. As my school runs AQA GCSE Combined Science for GCSE and OCR Physics A for A Level, these are the specifications my resources are aimed at. I am hopeful of tailoring them to other exam boards in the future though.

OCR Physics A H556 Unified Physics Questions

(1)
Questions around the ‘failed’ Apollo 13 mission that cover topics ranging from simple harmonic motion to gravitation to thermal physics and gas laws. These questions are designed to prepare students for the unified physics exam, where they will need a broad knowledge of the entire specification in order to succeed.
OCR Physics A H556 Binding Energy Group Task

OCR Physics A H556 Binding Energy Group Task

(0)
This task is designed for group work. A group of students uses the information on the sheet and the periodic table to calculate the mass defects and binding energies for a range of isotopes. The data can then be used to plot the binding energy per nucleon graph.

As answers have now been added to the Physics Equation Practice question set, I am uploading them free here for anyone who downloaded the original problem set before the answers were available.

AQA GCSE Combined Science: Trilogy - Paper 2 Key Questions

(3)
Useful for student revision for AQA GCSE Combined Science Trilogy papers. These are assessment objective 1 based questions designed to test the students’ ability to recall the key information from the specification for the Physics, Chemistry and Biology Paper 2s. At the end of each set of questions is also a set of questions covering the key points to recall for the required practical acitivities relevant to the topics, as well as some basic math skills checks. Excellent for supporting lower ability candidates to build a solid foundation in their subject knowledge before building in the higher order explanation and analysis skills needed for AO2 and AO3.

AQA GCSE Science: Physics Equation Practice

(1)
A set of 38 questions based on the equations in the AQA GCSE Combined specification that students need to recall and apply. The first 19 questions introduce each equation needed and the next 19 repeat the questions with new values for practice. This set of questions will also test student’s mastery of units, prefixes and standard form. Answers included.
GCSE Science Data & Graphs Lesson

GCSE Science Data & Graphs Lesson

(0)
A single slide power point lesson outline to guide students through the activities on the sheet. The aim of the lesson is to practice the students’ data and graph skills, developing mathematical techniques and working scientifically skills. Plenty of opportunity within the lesson to develop understanding using questioning. Could be used as a revision lesson or as a re-introduction to graphs, variables, means etc.
OCR Physics A H156 Long Answer Questions

OCR Physics A H156 Long Answer Questions

(1)
Students often struggle to write exhaustively on a topic. I designed these questions to encourage deeper thought on the physics of a situation and to drive students to write as much as they can, rather than to simply make as many points as there are marks available. These work excellently as either written homework questions, or questions that can be discussed in class.

Required Practicals Summary Sheets - AQA GCSE Combined Science - Trilogy Paper 1s

(0)
A set of summary sheets for the required practicals specified in the Biology, Chemistry and Physics paper 1 exams for AQA GCSE combined science trilogy. The sheets match the required practicals to the relevant papers and encourage students to review the theory, variables, methods, results, analysis and conclusions covered by each. Also provided is an exemplar sheet, showing the kind of information that could be included for each required practical. This can be used to support weaker students or as a starting point for more able students to add further detail to.
A Level Physics Radioactivity Spreadsheet

A Level Physics Radioactivity Spreadsheet

(0)
This resources allows A Level physics students to investigate radioactivity using a spreadsheet, specifcially to help cover specification point 6.4.3 g of the OCR Physics A course which requires students to model radioactive decay using a spreadsheet. The spreadsheet does not hide any of its formulae, so it is a useful tool for students to see how the spreadsheet generates its data. There are 4 questions as part of the spreadsheet that students need to answer, so the activity can work well used in a computer room for a lesson or as a stand alone homework. In my experience, this activity really enhances the students’ understanding of the exponential nature of the decay equations.
