This is a whole class activity made up of 21 cards to discuss during the school day. The resource encourages mindfulness and positive language in the classroom. The resource also includes cards where the children can choose to pass, hand the card to, or give thinking time. The resource also explains five key techniques to introduce mindfulness in to the classroom on a regular basis.

This unit of work is based upon working out the area of triangles, rectangles and squares. It includes a presentation asking children to apply the formula to work out the area of triangles with learning intentions. There is a four in a row game for fun and an activity for outdoor learning where the children have been asked to calculate the area and price to recover the school astro pitch.

This maths test contains questions in number, measures, and shape. It is extremely useful to guage what level your children are working at. There are 25 questions some with a part A and part B.

This unit of work contains 5 tests and five sets of answers. There are 25 questions in each test. Each test builds on the knowledge from the test before so the assessment is a scaffolded approach. For example there may be a question on algebra and on the next test the question will be similar with a different slant. Therefore you can track when a student has gained a solid understanding of the concept. This repetition and with the teacher’s input in explaining the reasoning means the pupil can see their marks improve throughout the assessments.

This powerpoint is based on place value, percentages and partitioning. The resource can be used with a whole class as a slightly easier version is included on each child so that the children are able to work at their own level. The questions are on one slide and the answers on another. The presentation begins with a mental maths game with instructions on the slide of how to play it.

This is a unit of mental maths for children aged 4 and 5. There are 5 mental maths tests in this unit of work each with ten activities. Also included is a score card for each test. There are images in many of the questions in this unit of work such as images to count, abacus beads on a string and so on. A variety of mathematical language is used throughout the scheme of work. No other preparation needed This unit of work is an excellent tool for baseline assessment in the early years. This is a unit of work which will last a number of weeks and is a STEM project including design and technology, maths, advertising, budgeting, area, ICT and presenting. The children are asked to work individually or collectively to plan and draw a luxury resort and create a layout on squared paper. They must then work out the area of each facility and create a sales pitch, a 3D model of one of the bedrooms and create sales figures based on percentage occupancy. This popular resource is perfect for a home school project or at the end of a year. There are ten pages in this unit of work.
