Here are the resources I use with my students to learn about the structure of trees (parts of a tree) and the differences between coniferous and deciduous trees. There are opportunities for children to answer questions with a talk partner or as a class to develop their ideas for writing. Included within the lesson starters is a sample of what their writing might look like and a few prompts for the student to use to keep them on track. These common exception words word mats are perfect for the student’s tables. They’ll have easy and quick access to the high frequency words they need as they write. Words are arranged alphabetically.
