Independent School Standards Compliance Audit Tool
An audit tool for use by the leaders of independent schools to accurately evaluate the extent to which their schools meet the requirements of the Independent School Standards (2014). This tool was created with reference to DfE and associated guidance:
It is written in plain English. The wording of the standards is not included on this document. Instead, for each standard, there is a set of questions that require a yes/no response to determine if your school meets the requirements of the standard.

Book Scrutiny Summary Template – Adapted from The Key & Customised
This template was adapted from The Key and amended
To be used in conjunction with the “Book Scrutiny Subject Template”
You can use it to summarise findings from 5 subjects at a time.
Some of the focus questions have been removed, others amended slightly and new questions added to help evaluate the effectiveness of curriculum implementation.

This template is for school leaders. It helps those who are responsible for evaluating teachers planning focus their work and be able to identify, at a glance any common strenghts or areas of weakness in teachers long term planning. This document was originally designed for leaders of non-association independent schools but I am hoping you will find it useful for your context.

Single Central Register for Independent Schools
A single central register specifically independent schools. Presented in two formats:
a single sheet register with clear indications about the checks that apply to specific groups
a multi-tab register with a tab for each of the relevant groups
To maintain an accurate register which meets the requirements of paragraph 21 of the independent school standards, please read the instructions and additional guidance on the sheet.

Monitoring Schedule Builder
This template makes it possible for school leaders to monitor every aspect of the schools provision. It includes criteria from the most up to date version of Ofsted’s “Non-association independent school inspection handbook” and a section for you to add criteria from your school’s vision, mission, value statements.
