This template is for middle and senior school leaders and anyone who is responsible for evaluating teachers planning. It was compiled with reference to the Teachers’ Standards and the Independent School Standards. I would recommend that: • lesson plans are checked at least once a term • each teacher provides a sample of 5 lesson plans per subject • each teacher provides the scheme of work for their subject • school leaders who conduct the evaluation share the outcome including recommendations for improvement with subject teachers • teachers who have improvement points get a follow up review of their lesson plans before the next cycle, this can be done during learning walks. I hope you find it useful.
