I designed this as an independent study homework pack on the Victorian Era (for Y8), which explores lots of the relevant context, non-fiction and fiction necessary for preparing for exams in Y11, whilst still containing lots of research and creative activities as well! Any feedback welcome.

I've made sixteen posters of the most common GCSE English terminology, featuring images and examples to support understanding. They can be printed off easily using the .PDF, or edited to contain your own versions on the PowerPoint. Any feedback is welcome!

This resource contains reading, writing and speaking and listening tasks, designed to introduce your students to the wonders of Shakespeare. You can set these tasks week by week, or set out over the course of a term. This contains extracts from Macbeth, the Tempest and Romeo and Juliet, as well as work based around Sonnet 130. There are also research and vocabulary tasks, getting students used to working with online resources.

Used with Y10s as an extension task!

This is a perfect opportunity to give students a chance to think about travelling the world: camping trips, going to the beach, and terrible holidays. A 6-week programs (designed to be used alongside reading a book) to catch up students who struggle with making inferences, punctuation, basic subject terminology and creative writing. There are several non-fiction articles and letters throughout. The booklet contains a baseline, review, exit test and a terminology page for revising terms learned. It took me three days to make this booklet, and I hope you love it as much as I do! It is 39 pages long, with a contents page to direct you through the course.
